The Hoakalei Country Club—home to Hawai‘i’s only Ernie Els-designed signature golf course—will once again host its annual Els Hoakalei Cup charitable golf tournament to raise much-needed funds for five local charities.
The 18-hole tournament and reception will benefit the Beautiful Son Foundation, Boys & Girls Club of Hawai‘i’s Hale Pono ‘Ewa Beach Clubhouse, James Campbell High School Athletics Department, Hoakalei Cultural Foundation, and Hoakalei Charities.
Golfers will enjoy on-course food and festivities during the play and will vie for hole-in-one, longest drive, closest-to-the-pin, and low net prizes, among others. Each golfer is guaranteed a tee package valued at $300. Registration and pre-tournament activities start at 10 am; the shotgun tournament begins at 12 pm. An evening casino-themed reception will follow the tournament.

On December 5, 2008, Red Bull conducting a round table discussion with the best surfers in the world. One was based around the big-wave frontier, while the other will be about what constitutes state of the art surfing. Everybody from Bruce Irons to Julian Wilson to Jamie O'Brien were in attendance.
Hawaiian Grown Catering was chosen exclusively to provide the feast for these Pro Athletes during the after party at a private residence in a pristine gated community on the North Shore, the Sunset Colony.
